Should I Produce, License or Buy OTT Content?



Companies are being purchased based on the reach and the more interestingly, their content libraries, so platforms are doing the math. Is it cheaper to produce content, licensed content or outright by a company that makes the best? Another thing I’d look at is we’re working with finite demand where consumers only have a certain number of hours per week to consume TV because there’s only so many hours in the day to watch in 2020. We almost saw up to around two hours a day without these services here in the US. So more providers are vying for the same number of potential customers. So the questions that arise for me are how do I help support the competition? How to best engage my audience? And toward what n is it more valuable for me to have a million subscribers for six months or six million estimated subscribers for a month? Should I buy or should I license the content to keep them engaged?
